The problem was though, that I began to suffer some side effects. The dosage was quite high, and it made me feel very fatigued. I then went on to try several other different medications, and eventually I found out that herbal anxiety medications helped me quite a bit, but unfortunately they were just not strong enough. What actually helped me in the end was a combination of talk therapy, anxiety medication, and alterations to my lifestyle. The causes of anxiety are indeed complex, and the solutions are often complex too. Anxiety medications are almost always part of the solution, but they are only one part.

In the long run, one of the most important things for me was to participate in an anxiety support group. Anxiety isn’t necessarily something that you will have to deal with for the rest of your life, but it can take some time to finally get over it. Support groups have the advantage of giving you a community of people that suffer from the same condition, that you can talk to. You can exchange helpful tips with one another, and be there for support when times get tough, and you can even network with each other.
